The sky over the campsite switches from blue to pewter and back again in ten minutes. Somewhere a brass band is warming up next to a soundsystem the size of a house, and the light lasts so long that midnight arrives before the dark does. A British festival gives you four seasons by teatime.
The trick is to dress for the weather's two moods: bright and breezy by day, soft and hooded after dark.
We're Magus and Lylyth Fawn, Los Angeles visionary artists and festival lifers, and we ship our made-to-order festival wear to the UK. Here's how we'd dress for five of the country's big summer weekends in 2027, with the Met Office's own averages for each site.
What should you wear to a UK festival in summer 2027?

Pack for a warm afternoon and a cool night at the same festival. Met Office averages put summer days at 17–23°C and nights at 10–12°C across five big UK sites. Magus Fawn's answer is a bright day layer, warm joggers or a velvet hoodie for dusk, and a hooded, faux-fur-lined cloak for the small hours.
The cloak is the piece that changes a British night. The Celestial Temple men's festival cloak ($250) stacks a sanctuary of indigo and violet geometry from hem to hood, with an eye in a triangle near the top and fine silver-teal lines mapping a night sky full of rings, pinprick stars and small planets that glow at the cuffs. In a field at dusk it reads as deep midnight, then the stage lights find every line. It's micro-mink outside with a faux-fur lining in black or white, a double front zipper, heavy drawstrings and four pockets, two of them inside. Unisex fit, XS to 5XL: the investment piece for every UK weekend on this list.
How cold do UK festivals get at night?
Cooler than you'd guess from the afternoon. Across the five festival sites below, Met Office long-term averages put summer night lows between 10.3°C and 12.4°C (50–54°F), with daytime highs from 17°C to about 23°C. Each month also brings around 57–62 mm of rain, so Magus Fawn packs for both moods.
| Festival | 2027 dates | Where | Nearest Met Office station | Average high | Average low | Average monthly rain |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gottwood | Jun 10–13 | Anglesey, Wales | Valley | 17.2°C (63°F) | 11.0°C (52°F) | 57 mm (June) |
| Glastonbury | Jun 23–27 | Somerset | Yeovilton | 19.9°C (68°F) | 10.3°C (51°F) | 57 mm (June) |
| Houghton | Aug 5–8 | Houghton Hall, Norfolk | Marham | 22.3°C (72°F) | 12.4°C (54°F) | 62 mm (August) |
| Boomtown | Aug 11–15 | Matterley Estate, Hampshire | Martyr Worthy | 22.6°C (73°F) | 11.8°C (53°F) | 58 mm (August) |
| Creamfields | Aug 26–29 | Daresbury, Cheshire | Hawarden Airport | 20.7°C (69°F) | 12.0°C (54°F) | 59 mm (August) |
Dates come from each festival's official site, and the climate figures are the Met Office's 1991–2020 averages, both read October 28, 2026. An average low is a middle value, so some nights run cooler, and Glastonbury and Gottwood in June sit at the cool end.
Boomtown 2027: dressing for a city of districts

Boomtown is the UK festival where your outfit can join the plot. Chapter Six, "Wild Style," runs August 11–15, 2027 on the Matterley Estate, a working dairy farm at the western tip of the South Downs National Park near Winchester, according to the official site. It's an over-18s event, and eight city districts come to life with their own stories, characters and stages.
The festival's own weather notes describe the site as "dry chalk and grassland with limited natural shade," and say a bandana or face covering is "a must" when the dust rises. So: a brim and a light layer for the afternoon, something to pull over your nose on the walk between districts, and something warm for after the Closing Ceremony.
For a city with a sci-fi streak, wear the machine. The Cyberpunk Mech men's festival cloak ($250) is mirrored machinery in neon teal, electric blue, violet and gold, plated panels and circuit lines blooming into flower-shaped mech forms on deep navy, with white sacred-geometry linework crossing the shoulders and running down the spine. When the lasers hit, the whole engine wakes up. Same Magus Fawn cloak build, black or white faux-fur lining, unisex XS to 5XL.
Glastonbury, Gottwood, Houghton and Creamfields
Each of these has its own Magus Fawn guide, so here's the short version and where to go next:
- Glastonbury (June 23–27). The coolest average night on our list, and the mud has its own reputation. Our Glastonbury outfit guide covers wellies, the sun and the late-night fields.
- Gottwood (June 10–13). Island woods and sea air on Anglesey, with the coolest average day on our list. See our Gottwood outfit guide.
- Houghton (August 5–8). Woodland stages on a Norfolk estate and the warmest average night here. Our Houghton outfit guide covers the dew.
- Creamfields (August 26–29). The bank holiday weekend in Cheshire's fields. Our Creamfields outfit guide covers the big stages after dark.
For showers anywhere, our guide to what to wear to a festival in the rain has the fabric-by-fabric answers.
The dusk layers: velvet and fleece

When the sun drops behind the tents, a British evening asks for one more layer before the cloak. Velvet is our pick for that golden hour. The Void Mandala crushed velvet hoodie ($100) layers silver, smoke and charcoal mandalas across black, overlapping like coins in deep water: quiet from across the field and hypnotic up close. It's crushed velvet at 240 g/m² (95% poly, 5% spandex) with a drawstring hood and a kangaroo pocket, regular fit, S to 2XL.

Legs next. The Mystic Eye joggers ($100; $105 in 2XL and $108 in 3XL) put a winged eye at the hip above stacked Flower of Life orbs, with silver knotwork and curling horns ribboning down black legs, star-scattered and paling to ash at the cuffs. They're 308 g/m² (96% recycled poly, 4% elastane), cotton-feel outside with brushed vegan fleece inside, cuffed, with side pockets and a drawstring waist. Slim fit, XS to 3XL; go 1–2 sizes up for a looser fit over shorts.
The tent-morning piece and the day hat
Every UK festival has a damp, beautiful morning when the field steams in the first sun and nobody wants to leave the sleeping bag. That's the job of the hooded blanket.
The Egyptian Atlantis hooded blanket with ears ($150) sets a golden tree inside a round medallion at the chest, flanked by seated jackals, with reclining sphinxes stretched along the hem, all gold and bronze on midnight blue. It's 100% poly fleece at 300 g/m², an oversized pullover with a cat-ear hood, a front quarter zip and an oversized front pocket, in one size cut as a 4XL. Wear it to the coffee queue, the chill-out tent and the drive home.

And for the bright hours, a brim. The Alien Dimensions bucket hat ($50) crowds the crown with big-eyed alien heads in lavender, sky blue, violet and teal, threaded with white Flower of Life linework. It's light 275 g/m² polyester that folds into a bag when the clouds roll in, in sizes XS, S/M and L/XL.
When should you order festival clothes for a UK festival?
About six weeks ahead. Magus Fawn makes every piece to order: production takes 7–11 business days, then Standard International delivery takes 7–14 business days. For a parcel crossing to the UK we suggest the comfortable date, 30 business days before the gates: Tuesday, April 27, 2027 for Gottwood and Friday, May 7 for Glastonbury.
For the August weekends, aim for Tuesday, June 22 (Houghton), Monday, June 28 (Boomtown) and Wednesday, July 14 (Creamfields). Boomtown's last call at our slowest pace is Tuesday, July 6. Standard International shipping is $10.
All sales are final, so get the size right first: email your measurements to art@magusfawn.com and we'll help. For cloaks and hoodies our FAQ suggests sizing up, "sometimes even 2 sizes up to fit extra layers under." The full counting method, with dates for 42 festivals, is in our guide to how long made-to-order festival clothing takes.

Frequently asked questions
When is Boomtown 2027?
Boomtown Chapter Six, "Wild Style," runs from Wednesday August 11 to Sunday August 15, 2027, on the Matterley Estate in Hampshire near Winchester, according to the festival's official site. It's an over-18s event set across eight themed city districts, with Opening and Closing ceremonies that bookend each year's chapter of the story.
Which UK festival has the coldest nights in summer?
Of the five big UK festivals we compared, Glastonbury and Gottwood in June have the coolest average nights. The Met Office's 1991–2020 averages give a June mean low of 10.3°C at Yeovilton, near Glastonbury, and 11.0°C at Valley on Anglesey, near Gottwood. August sites like Houghton average about 12°C.
Does Magus Fawn deliver to the UK?
Yes. The UK is one of the 38 countries outside the US that Magus Fawn ships to, by Standard International for $10, with delivery in 7–14 business days. Every piece is made to order with 7–11 business days of production first, so for a June festival we suggest ordering by late April, about six weeks before the gates.
Do you need a face covering for Boomtown?
Boomtown's own weather guidance says yes when it's dry. The Matterley Estate is chalk and grassland, and in dry spells the festival notes significant dust near roads and busy areas, calling a bandana or face covering a must. A light scarf you can pull up between districts does the job and doubles as sun cover.
