What to Wear to Glastonbury 2027: Mud, Sun and Arcadia After Dark

|Magus Fawn

Somewhere around Wednesday afternoon, Worthy Farm stops being a dairy farm and becomes a city.

You come over the brow of the hill and the Vale of Avalon opens below you: flags snapping above a sea of tents, the Pyramid Stage catching the light, woodsmoke on the breeze, and a Somerset sky that can't choose between sunshine and a fat grey cloud. It chooses both, usually within the hour. Your wellies already wear a coat of Pilton mud, and you've never been happier.

That's the first lesson in what to wear to Glastonbury: dress for every weather at once. The second arrives after dark, when the fields cool to 10–13°C (the 50s°F), the south-east corner lights up like a city that never got the memo about bedtime, and the Stone Circle fills for sunrise.

Glastonbury is back in 2027 after its 2026 fallow year, running Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27, per the official festival site. We're Magus and Lylyth Fawn, Los Angeles visionary artists and festival lifers, and this is our five-day wardrobe for the farm.

What should you wear to Glastonbury 2027?

Wear layers built for four seasons in one day. Glastonbury runs in late June on a Somerset dairy farm, with nights around 10–13°C (the 50s°F) and mud that's part of the legend. The plan is wellies and a waterproof by default, light prints when the sun shows up, and a hooded cloak once night falls.

When On the farm What you're wearing
Sunny afternoon Warm sun on the Pyramid field Cotton tee or printed dress, snapback, sunscreen
A passing shower Any field, any hour Poncho or waterproof over the outfit, wellies
Sunset to midnight The fields cooling Crushed velvet hoodie, fleece joggers or leggings
Midnight to sunrise 10–13°C (50s°F) Hooded faux-fur-lined cloak on top
Camp morning Dew on everything Hooded blanket and a proper brew

Glastonbury is a walking festival, and nobody hikes back to the tent to change. Whatever you'll want at 2 a.m. rides on your back from noon. And after the fallow year, 2027 arrives on rested fields.

What do people wear to Glastonbury when the sun is out?

Electric Dragonscape cotton t-shirt with a dragon in electric blue, violet and silver feathered scales around a glowing violet orb, a sunny-day Glastonbury outfit

When the Somerset sun comes out, Glastonbury dresses like a summer garden party that wandered into a rave: printed tees, festival dresses, shorts, sunglasses and hats, almost always finished with wellies or boots. Keep the outfit light and loud, and keep a waterproof rolled in your bag, because the next cloud is never far away.

Glastonbury fashion is more Pilton than catwalk: one bold piece, plus gear that can take a field.

The tee. The Electric Dragonscape cotton t-shirt ($60, XS–5XL) sends a dragon down the chest in electric blue, violet and silver feathered scales, wrapped around a glowing violet orb. It's 100% cotton at 190 g/m², printed by dye sublimation, so the colors won't fade and the image won't crack.

The dress. The Psy Swirl lace-up tube dress ($70, S–5XL) rolls magenta and tangerine spirals over hot pink and laces up an open back with black cord. Worn with wellies, it's the whole Glastonbury spirit in one outfit: half garden party, half psychedelic poster.

The hat. The Ophanim Green snapback ($40) sets a green fractal starburst around a violet-blue orb over flower-of-life geometry. The ophanim are the wheel-shaped angels of Ezekiel's vision, which feels about right for a field where everything spins.

The bag. The Mystic Eye Blue backpack ($55 in M, $60 in L, $65 in XL) crowns a flower-of-life orb with an open eye, all in blue filigree. It carries the poncho, dry socks and the evening hoodie.

Do you need wellies for Glastonbury?

Yes. Wellies are the unofficial uniform of Worthy Farm, and Glastonbury's mud is famous for a reason: a working dairy farm, a small city's worth of feet and one good downpour turn the paths into deep, sticky soup. Pack wellies or tall waterproof boots, thick socks, a spare dry pair and a proper waterproof layer.

A field-tested rain kit, good at any UK festival:

  • Wellies plus tall, thick welly socks for the long walks.
  • Poncho over the outfit, never instead of it. Our cloaks and velvet are warmth layers, not raincoats, so the poncho goes on top when it rains (our festival cloak buyer's guide covers cloaks in the rain).
  • A dry bag in the backpack keeps your midnight layer dry, and a fresh pair of socks waits in the tent.
  • Legs tucked in. Leggings and cuffed joggers slide straight into wellies and stay out of the mud.

For fabrics, boots and a tent-side drying routine, see our guide to what to wear to a festival in the rain.

The leggings. The Angel Catcher Purple yoga leggings ($70, XS–XL) stack violet flower-of-life medallions and star geometry on black. They're 4-way stretch microfiber at 225 g/m² with a raised waistband, the layer that takes a summer dress into the night.

What do you wear to Arcadia, Block9 and Shangri-La after dark?

Wear your boldest print under your warmest layers. After dark, Glastonbury's dancing moves to Arcadia, Block9 and Shangri-La, and the fields cool to 10–13°C (the 50s°F). A crushed velvet hoodie or fleece joggers go on at sunset, and a hooded faux-fur-lined cloak goes over everything for the walk between them.

Arcadia. For years, Arcadia's legend was its fire-breathing spider. In 2024 the Dragonfly took over, a former Royal Navy helicopter reborn as a stage, which the official site describes ringed with flame for its midnight show. Wear the cloak open near the fire and bass, zipped for the walk out.

Block9. Block9 gathers around its venues IICON, Genosys, Meat Rack and NYC Downlow and celebrates freedom of expression in every form. Bring your loudest print.

Shangri-La. In the south-east corner, Shangri-La's most recent edition put nature center stage, with 40-foot sculptural trees rising around its main stage and the tagline "Rest, rave, reconnect, question everything."

The hoodie. The Cyber Punk Mech crushed velvet hoodie ($100) pours teal, cobalt and violet currents around coral-red flourishes and beaded chains, with a lace-fine mandala at its heart. It's 240 g/m² crushed velvet with a drawstring hood and kangaroo pocket, in S–2XL (read its New Year's Eve story: Eleven Fifty-Nine).

The joggers. The Madriax Blue joggers ($100; $105 in 2XL, $108 in 3XL) climb violet and indigo honeycomb geometry, with teal medallions blooming near the cuffs. They're a listed 308 g/m² with brushed vegan fleece inside, and the cuffed legs tuck neatly into wellies. The fit is slim, so order one or two sizes up for a looser one.

The cloak. Every Magus Fawn festival cloak shares one build: a micro-mink outer, an ultra-soft fluffy microfiber fleece lining in black or white faux fur (listed fabric weight 200 g/m²), a double front zipper, heavy drawstrings and four pockets, two deep side pockets plus two interior stash pockets, one of them zippered. Unisex fit, XS–5XL. Nicholas, reviewing a Sacred Grounds cloak in December 2023: "First cloak ever. Super comfortable and warm. Fell asleep with it on. Kept me warm all night." For him, the Cosmic Cross Green men's festival cloak ($250) grows emerald and lime filigree in mirrored arches over cobalt diamonds, like a cathedral window that took root in an English hedgerow (read the story behind the design: Fifty-Two Minutes to Doors).

For her, the Dream Weaver Yellow women's festival cloak ($250) weaves gold and olive baroque filigree around a fierce, beast-like mask, threaded with violet (its story: The Sand Loom).

The Stone Circle at dawn is Glastonbury's quiet encore. The night crowd drifts up the hill, someone has a flask, and the sky goes from ink to pearl over the Vale of Avalon. It's also the coldest hour, so the hood stays up until the sun clears the hill.

Back at camp, the morning belongs to the Egyptian Atlantis hooded blanket ($150): gold hieroglyph panels, medallions and golden sphinxes on deep navy, a fitting wink at a festival whose main stage is a pyramid. It's an oversized pullover in 300 g/m² fleece with a cat-ear hood, a front quarter zip and an oversized front pocket, one size (4XL).

Frequently asked questions

Where is Glastonbury Festival held?

Glastonbury Festival is held at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, in south-west England, a working dairy farm in the Vale of Avalon. The site spreads across fields and a valley, from the Pyramid Stage to the Stone Circle, and in 2027 it runs Wednesday, June 23 to Sunday, June 27, according to the festival.

Why does Glastonbury take a fallow year?

Glastonbury traditionally rests every few years so Worthy Farm can recover. Organiser Emily Eavis has said the break gives the land a rest and lets the farm's cows stay out on it for longer. 2026 was a fallow year, and the festival returns to Pilton for 2027 with the fields refreshed.

What happened to the Arcadia spider at Glastonbury?

Arcadia's fire-breathing spider ruled its corner of Glastonbury for years, then handed over in 2024 to the Dragonfly, a former Royal Navy helicopter rebuilt as a stage with lasers, projection and rings of flame. Arcadia's official page describes it as transforming the machinery of destruction into unifying art, so the legend lives on in a new form.

Can you still get Glastonbury 2027 tickets?

The festival's official site says general admission tickets for Glastonbury 2027 have sold out, with a resale of cancelled and returned tickets planned for spring 2027. You need to be registered with the festival to buy, so register early and watch the official channels for the resale date.
