Psytrance Festivals in Europe 2027: Dates, Night Temperatures and What to Wear

|Magus Fawn

A dust cloud hangs gold over a Portuguese lake at noon. A few days later, a Hungarian valley wakes to the smell of coffee and a sunrise set rolling over the hills. By late August the same sunrise anthem is rolling across a field in northern Germany, and the crowd there is wearing jumpers.

Europe's psytrance summer is one long journey with a dance floor at every stop.

We're Magus and Lylyth Fawn, Los Angeles visionary artists and psy lifers, and we ship our made-to-order festival wear to 21 European countries, Portugal, Hungary, Germany and France among them. Here's the 2027 calendar from the official sites, the night temperatures from national weather data, and how we'd dress for each stop.

What should you wear to a psytrance festival in Europe?

Man in the hooded Ophanim men's festival cloak zipped to the knee at a sunny festival stage, glowing violet and lavender mandala forms over a gold lattice at the hem

Dress for hot days and mild-to-cool nights. National weather data puts July and August days at 23–33°C and nights at 13–17°C at Europe's big psy sites. Magus Fawn suggests breathable cotton and loose trousers for the day, a sun hat for the dust, and a hooded cloak for the sunrise set, when dew and dawn air arrive together.

The sunrise is the main event at a psy festival, so the cloak is the investment piece. The Ophanim men's festival cloak ($250) takes its name from the wheels within wheels of the Book of Ezekiel, their rims full of eyes (Wikipedia), and here that many-eyed angel glows down the back as a violet and lavender radiant mandala, with a gold and orange lattice at the hem. It's micro-mink on the outside with a faux-fur lining in black or white, a double front zipper, heavy drawstrings and four pockets. Unisex fit, XS to 5XL. When the first light hits the dance floor, it lights up with it.

The 2027 European psy calendar

Four festivals in four countries, all in July and August. Dates come from each official site, read October 28, 2026.

Festival 2027 dates Where Climate station (DWD normals) Average high Average low Comfortable order-by
Boom Festival Jul 18–25 Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal Castelo Branco 32.6°C (91°F) 17.2°C (63°F) Wed, Jun 2
O.Z.O.R.A. Jul 23–Aug 3 Dádpuszta, Hungary Pécs 27.7°C (82°F) 16.5°C (62°F) Tue, Jun 8
Indian Spirit Aug 25–30 Eldena, northern Germany Marnitz 23.7°C (75°F) 12.9°C (55°F) Tue, Jul 13
Hadra Trance Festival TBA (2026 ran Aug 27–30) Vieure, France Bourges 26.2°C (79°F) 14.7°C (58°F) 30 business days before the gates

Temperatures are 1991–2020 monthly averages (July for Boom and O.Z.O.R.A., August for the others) from the Deutscher Wetterdienst, Germany's national weather service, which publishes long-term normals for weather stations across Europe.

Boom marks 30 years, 1997 to 2027, beside the reservoir at Herdade da Granja. Our Boom Festival outfit guide covers the lake, the Dance Temple and the heat.

O.Z.O.R.A. opens its gates at noon on Friday, July 23, holds its Opening Ceremony on Monday, July 26, and closes on August 3. Our Ozora outfit guide walks the valley venue by venue.

Indian Spirit calls itself "Germany's biggest psy trance festival," and it runs August 25–30 at Eldena in the north of the country. It's the coolest stop on the circuit.

Hadra Trance Festival ran August 27–30, 2026 at Vieure in France's Allier department; 2027 dates are TBA.

How cold do European psytrance festivals get at night?

Mild, then cool just before sunrise. Long-term weather-service averages put night lows at about 17°C near Boom and O.Z.O.R.A. in July, falling to 13–15°C at Indian Spirit and Hadra in late August. After a 30°C afternoon, those dawn hours feel cooler still, so Magus Fawn packs a hooded layer for every one.

The northern end of the season is where a cloak truly shines. An average August low of about 13°C near Eldena is the same territory as a British summer night, and it lands right on the sunrise set.

For a second cloak in the crew, bring the geometry. The Sacred Geo women's festival cloak ($250) drifts gold Flower of Life grids over violet and indigo smoke washed with teal, outlined in fine rainbow-tinted lines, with nested gold stars and rose-lavender Om symbols. The Flower of Life is the pattern of overlapping circles (Wikipedia), one shape repeating outward from a single center, which feels about right for a festival that gathers people from everywhere around one fire. Faux-fur lining in black or white, unisex XS to 5XL.

Day looks for the dust and the heat

At Boom the July average high near the site is 32.6°C; at O.Z.O.R.A. it's 27.7°C. The day uniform is loose, light and sleeveless. The Galactic Alien Oracle cotton sleeveless hooded tank ($80) puts a calm oracle with a long face, almond eyes and a jeweled crest at the center, laced with indigo, lavender and silver filigree. It's 100% cotton at 310 g/m² with a drawstring hood for instant shade and a kangaroo pocket, regular fit, XS to 5XL. Cotton shrinks 3–5% after the first wash, so wash it cold and air-dry it.

Then trousers you can dance in from sunrise until noon. The Fuchsia Swirl lantern pants ($80), from our Psy Swirl family, ripple deep fuchsia and plum liquid swirls down the legs with flashes of amber gold. They're a relaxed men's carrot fit with wide legs gathered at cuffed ankles, an elastic waistband with a drawstring, and a soft waffle knit (95% poly, 5% spandex) at 300 g/m², XS to 4XL. The cuffs keep the hem out of the dust.

Gold, bronze and black zigzag mandala snapback hat with a large gold Om inside a ringed medallion on the side panel

Top it off with the Golden OM snapback ($40): gold, bronze and black zigzag mandalas across the crown and a large gold Om glowing in a ringed medallion on the side. Om is a sacred syllable in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain practice, and it catches the stage lights every time you turn. One size, with an adjustable snap.

The chill-out piece: a hooded blanket for camp

Every psy festival has its slow side: the chill-out stage, the morning market, the long talk in the shade. That's where the $150 hooded blanket lives.

The Temple of Sound hooded blanket with ears ($150) is our shrine to the soundsystem. A crowned figure glows in a golden sunburst halo above a meditating figure, with speaker cones stacked on either side like temple columns, over a lavender lattice of Flower of Life rings. It's 100% polyester fleece at 300 g/m², an oversized pullover with cat ears on the hood, a front quarter zip and an oversized front pocket, one size cut as a 4XL. Fall asleep in it with the bass still humming.

When should you order psytrance clothing for a European festival?

Six weeks ahead is our sweet spot. Every Magus Fawn piece is made to order: production takes 7–11 business days, then Standard International delivery takes 7–14 business days. For parcels to Europe we suggest the comfortable date, 30 business days before the gates: Wednesday, June 2, 2027 for Boom and Tuesday, June 8 for O.Z.O.R.A.

For the late-August stops, aim for Tuesday, July 13 for Indian Spirit (last call at our slowest pace is Tuesday, July 20) and count back 30 business days once Hadra posts its dates. Standard International shipping is $10.

All sales are final, with one exception for our European friends: EU customers have a 14-day cooling-off period for unused items with the tags on. For sizing help, email your measurements to art@magusfawn.com. The whole counting method is in our guide to how long made-to-order festival clothing takes.

One summer, four sunrises

The European psy circuit runs hot to cool, south to north, lake to field. Pack light for the first stop, add a layer for every hundred kilometers north, and keep the cloak on top of the bag for the hour that matters most.
