Hemlock smoke drifts across a Vermont meadow, and somebody has strung paper lanterns between two birches.
The grass is cool under bare feet. A wooden effigy waits at the far edge of the field, and a hooded cloak comes out of a backpack for the first time since spring. Three hundred miles south, lasers thread through the Pocono pines. Down in Brooklyn, a courtyard dance floor fills with people who rode the train in their best black.
Northeast music festivals cover a lot of ground: burns in the Green Mountains, forest stages beside a racetrack, and city nights where the club is the festival. The weather keeps you guessing too. Summer storms, humid afternoons and forest nights that cool down fast.
As Magus and Lylyth Fawn, visionary artists working in Los Angeles, we design layers for exactly this kind of swing. Here are the East Coast festivals and dance-floor institutions to plan around in 2027, with honest status notes and an outfit for each.
What are the best music festivals in the Northeast?
Elements Music & Arts Festival in Pennsylvania's Poconos (August 6–8, 2027) leads the Northeast calendar, joined by Firefly Arts Collective, the New England regional burn in Vermont each July, and Governors Ball in Queens each June. In Brooklyn, the former Brooklyn Mirage now runs summer seasons as Pacha New York.
Where an official site exists, we checked it in October 2026; night figures are typical ranges, not forecasts.

Six Northeast events, from the Pocono pines to Brooklyn
We've arranged these from the deepest woods to the brightest city lights.
1. Elements Music & Arts Festival: four elements in the Pocono woods
Elements returns to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, on August 6–8, 2027, with an early-arrival day on August 5. Its four stages are named Fire, Earth, Water and Air, and they're spread through the forest beside the track. The festival is 18+. Nights settle into the 60s°F, and summer storms rolled through the 2026 edition.

Outfit note: dress for the Water stage first. The Cosmic Flower of Life Pink one-piece swimsuit ($65; $68 in 2XL, $69 in 3XL) curls magenta and lilac spirals over a faint Flower of Life lattice, like a sacred-geometry pattern under a pink tide. It's four-way stretch (75% recycled poly, 25% elastane, 225 g/m²) with a double-layer front, in XS–3XL. Add denim shorts by day and a poncho for the storms. Our Elements festival outfits guide has a look for every element.
2. Firefly Arts Collective: Vermont's July burn
Burning Man's Vermont regional page calls Firefly the New England regional burn, held every July. It gathers in Vermont forest and meadow around the July 4 weekend, with art, gifting and an effigy, and nights of about 55–62°F. 2027 dates are TBA. Keep it separate from the Firefly Music Festival in Delaware, a commercial festival last held in 2022.

Outfit note: sun by day, shelter by night. For warm afternoons, the Alien Dimensions cotton sleeveless hooded tank ($80) gathers a crowd of violet and blue alien faces around a white Flower of Life, with a gold star glowing below them, a welcoming committee from another meadow. It's cotton, dye-sublimated, in XS–5XL, and the hood gives shade between art pieces.

After dark, the Crystalline Forest men's festival cloak ($250) shatters into angular facets of emerald, magenta, violet, cobalt and gold, like stained glass in a forest chapel. It has a micro-mink outer, faux-fur fleece lining in black or white, a double front zipper and four pockets, in unisex XS–5XL. For the full regional picture, read what a regional burn is, and for a fictional sunrise wedding at a regional burn, the voicemail story Hold the Sunrise.
3. Unifier: a lakeside gathering, last held in 2023
Unifier brought world and sacred music, ceremony, permaculture and circus arts to Camp Timber Trails in Tolland, Massachusetts, a summer-camp property of forest and lake. A 2023 photo essay called it a four-day gathering of music, art, workshops and community. No later edition has been announced.
Outfit note: if it returns, pack the Firefly kit. A cotton tank for the lake, then a hoodie for 55–65°F nights. For the bigger picture of gatherings like this, see what a transformational festival is.
4. Governors Ball: three June days in Queens
Governors Ball is New York City's headline multi-genre weekend. Its 2026 edition ran June 5–7 in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, and 2027 dates are TBA.

Outfit note: a city-park festival rewards sun cover and comfortable shoes. The Green Fractal snapback ($40) swirls teal and deep-green fractals threaded with copper, like oxidized metal catching the light. Pair it with a cotton tee and a light layer for the subway ride home.
5. Pacha New York, the former Brooklyn Mirage: open-air nights on Stewart Avenue
The Brooklyn Mirage was a venue rather than a festival, and it's back with a new name. After a 2025 bankruptcy and sale, Mixmag reported that it would reopen as Pacha New York, with a first season from June through October 2026. The official site lists 140 Stewart Avenue and a 21+ door. 2027 season dates are TBA.

Outfit note: a courtyard crowd that leans toward black still welcomes a little shine. The Brown Fractal Bubble crushed velvet t-shirt ($60 in crushed velvet) tiles bronze and tan fractal rosettes across deep charcoal-brown, like an antique tin ceiling seen in candlelight. It's 240 g/m² crushed velvet in XS–5XL, and the same print comes in poly jersey ($50) or cotton ($60) for the sticky nights of July. For a fictional city party in a heat wave, read Two Kicks In, Four Kicks Out.
6. Teksupport: Brooklyn warehouse techno at a crossroads
Teksupport built its name on secret Brooklyn warehouse parties, and our techno party guide tells that story. Its 2027 calendar is an open question. In October 2026, EDM.com reported, citing Unmixed Magazine, that a New Jersey court order directs its parent company, TCE Presents, to hold no events after November 7. Watch its official channels for news.

Outfit note: whoever throws the next New York warehouse party, the dress code stays dark and the queue stays cold in winter. The Dark Phoenix women's festival cloak ($250) spreads silver-grey wings and filigree across black around a round medallion at the chest, with spires rising near the hem. It's monochrome enough for the techno crowd and warm enough for a January sidewalk. Same cloak build as the Crystalline Forest, in unisex XS–5XL. For a fictional night in that world, read Fifty-Two Minutes to Doors.
What music festivals are in New York?
New York's anchor festival is Governors Ball, held in early June at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens. The city's dance culture lives mostly in clubs and warehouses: Pacha New York runs summer seasons on the former Brooklyn Mirage site, and Teksupport's warehouse parties face an unclear 2027 after a reported October 2026 court order.
Upstate, smaller farm and forest gatherings change from year to year, so check each event's own site for the current dates. For a fictional taste of one, read The Queen With the Blue Dot, a love story about a bee swarm on a farm-festival stage. For winter shows indoors, our guide to what to wear to an indoor rave covers coat checks and cold queues.
Which music festivals happen in Pennsylvania?
Elements Music & Arts Festival is Pennsylvania's flagship camping festival. It runs August 6–8, 2027, at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, with house, techno and bass across four elemental stages. It's 18+, three-day pass holders can add an early-arrival day on August 5, and the stages stay open until 3 a.m.
The 2026 edition was the ninth, and the Pocono woods made it feel far from the raceway next door. Driving west afterward? Our Midwest festival guide covers Movement, Electric Forest and Lost Lands. Plan for rain as well as heat: the forest holds its damp after a storm, so pack shoes you're happy to get muddy and a dry change for camp. Our guide to what to wear to a festival in the rain has the full storm kit.
What should you wear to an East Coast festival?
Pack for humidity, a summer storm and a cool night, all in one weekend. East Coast festivals run warm and sticky by day, then forest sites like Firefly and Elements drop into the 50s and 60s°F after dark. Start with breathable cotton or a swimsuit, carry a poncho, and save one warm hooded layer for late sets.
| Where you're dancing | Daylight | Nightfall | Extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pocono forest (Elements) | Swimsuit or tank with shorts | A light layer | Poncho and muddy-ready shoes |
| Vermont burn (Firefly) | Cotton hooded tank | Faux-fur-lined cloak | Headlamp and a mug for gifting |
| City park (Governors Ball) | Tee and a hat | A light layer | Comfortable walking shoes |
| Brooklyn open-air club | Velvet tee | Same, plus a bag for the ride | Your 21+ ID |
| Winter warehouse | Dark velvet or a tee | Cloak for the queue, checked inside | Earplugs |

Sizing. Our FAQ suggests sizing up for outerwear like cloaks and hoodies, "sometimes even 2 sizes up to fit extra layers under." Between sizes? Email your measurements to art@magusfawn.com.
Give yourself time. Every piece is made to order: 7–11 business days of production, then 6–14 business days of delivery. Count back the slowest case from Elements on August 6, 2027, and the last safe order day is Thursday, June 24, 2027. All sales are final, and US shipping is free at $70+.

The lanterns go back up in the Vermont birches next July. Bring the cloak, because the meadow cools fast once the effigy glows.
Frequently asked questions
What happened to the Brooklyn Mirage?
The Brooklyn Mirage closed for more than a year, its operator filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2025, and the site was sold. It reopened as Pacha New York, with a first season from June through October 2026, according to Mixmag. Pacha New York's official site lists the same address, 140 Stewart Avenue, and a 21+ door.
Is Teksupport still throwing parties?
Its 2027 plans are unclear. EDM.com reported in October 2026, citing Unmixed Magazine, that a New Jersey court order directs Teksupport's parent company, TCE Presents, to hold no events after November 7, 2026, and dissolves the business partnership. The report says either partner may organize events independently, so follow Teksupport's official channels for news.
When does festival season start in the Northeast?
Northeast festival season opens in early June, when Governors Ball fills Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Firefly's Vermont burn follows in July and Elements in early August, while Pacha New York's 2026 open-air season ran from June through October. From November to May, the dancing moves indoors to clubs and warehouses.
