Music Festivals in Arkansas 2027: Mountain Campouts, Riverbank Blues and Eureka Springs in October

|Magus Fawn

Hillberry's farm outside Eureka Springs backs onto the Mark Twain National Forest, with the White River five miles off. Farther south, Mulberry Mountain sits above the Mulberry River valley on the Pig Trail Scenic Byway, and Wakaan brings its bass stages there each fall.

That pull between Ozark ridges and the rivers below them runs through the whole state calendar. Mountain View fills its courthouse square in April, North Little Rock opened a free folklife weekend on the Arkansas River in 2026, Fort Smith sets a country and red dirt stage on the same river, and Helena plays the blues beside the Mississippi.

An April square, a June riverbank and a crowded October

The Arkansas Folk Festival (April 16–17), Hillberry (October 13–17) and the Original Ozark Folk Festival (October 21–24) are set for 2027. Wakaan, the Peacemaker Festival, the King Biscuit Blues Festival and the Arkansas Folklife Festival show 2026 dates for now.

If Arkansas is one stop on a longer trip, the festivals we'd plan a whole 2027 around fill in the rest of the route.

The Ozark side: Mountain View, Mulberry Mountain and Eureka Springs

Arkansas Folk Festival: Mountain View's courthouse square (April 16–17)

The 65th Arkansas Folk Festival runs from 10 a.m. Friday, April 16, to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 17, 2027, according to the Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce. Folk music plays on the courthouse square between storefront displays, an Artisans Market, antique cars and demonstrations of storytelling, quilting and blacksmithing. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. Saturday, a free shuttle runs to the Ozark Folk Center, and visitors are invited to bring instruments and join in.

Outfit note: the listed hours end before dark, and Harrison's April afternoons average 69.6°F. A snapback is enough on the square.

Wakaan Music Festival: bass above the Mulberry River (2027 dates TBA)

Mulberry Mountain is a 400-acre resort in the Ozark National Forest whose festivals come from independent promoters. Wakaan played there October 1–3, 2026, after a Wednesday pre-party, as a strictly 18+ weekend with music from early afternoon until just past sunrise. Campfires aren't part of it, so the warm layers ride on you. Rain, totems and the late sets are covered in our guide to dressing for Wakaan.

Outfit note: Harrison, about 55 miles northeast, averages 48.0°F on October nights. The Amethyst Unicorn cloak goes on zipped over the Purple Marble bodysuit for the sunrise sets.

Hillberry: The Harvest Moon: five nights at The Farm (October 13–17)

Hillberry returns to The Farm Campground & Events on October 13–17, 2027, with tickets "on sale soon." The jam band Railroad Earth co-presents it: bluegrass and funk for all ages, with workshops, kids' activities and art installations. In 2026 the ticket covered camping right beside your car and kids 12 and under got in free, and the festival FAQ keeps the gates open around the clock from 8 a.m. Wednesday.

The Farm's 160 acres include a hot-water shower house, disc golf and a three-mile trail, and the 2026 page listed canoe and kayak shuttles to the White River.

Outfit note: five October nights near 48.0°F (Harrison, about 40 miles east) call for the Dream Weaver Green cloak and our hooded blanket at camp.

Original Ozark Folk Festival: the 80th edition (October 21–24)

Eureka Springs follows Hillberry a week later with the 80th Original Ozark Folk Festival, October 21–24, 2027. Its site lists an Ozark Folk Fair, a Songwriter Competition and Music Around Town.

Outfit note: Harrison's October normal low is 48.0°F for the month as a whole, and November's drops to 38.0°F, so late-month evenings in town lean cool. Carry a cloak between venues after dark.

Eureka Springs sits a few miles below the Missouri line, and Missouri's 2027 festivals are collected next door.

The river side: Little Rock, Fort Smith and Helena

Arkansas Folklife Festival: six culturesheds on the riverfront (2027 dates TBA)

The first Arkansas Folklife Festival set up in Riverfront Park in North Little Rock on June 26–28, 2026, free and open to anyone who walked in. It gathered music, foodways, craft and storytelling from the state's six culturesheds, with blues singer Bobby Rush and songwriter Lucinda Williams headlining.

Outfit note: Little Rock's June brings 88.2°F afternoons and 67.7°F nights. The Liquid Cosmos bucket hat shades the riverbank.

Peacemaker Festival: country and red dirt in Fort Smith (2027 dates TBA)

The Peacemaker Festival books country, rock, blues, red dirt and Americana for the Riverfront Amphitheater on the Arkansas River in downtown Fort Smith. A volunteer board runs it as a nonprofit, and it has given more than $895,000 to youth charities over nine years. Its 2026 ticket page placed that edition on Friday and Saturday, October 2–3. Its FAQ asks for a ticket from everyone in the park, children included, and allows only low-back or camping-style chairs.

Outfit note: Fort Smith is about 130 miles upriver from Little Rock's airport, where October nights average 50.9°F. Bring a layer for the lawn.

King Biscuit Blues Festival: Helena's levee stage (2027 dates TBA)

The King Biscuit Blues Festival, founded in 1986, plays Helena's Mississippi riverbank on the weekend before Columbus Day. Its 2026 run was October 8–10, with tickets sold at the gate. The festival's 2025 guide describes five stages, including a Main Stage on top of the levee, plus street buskers.

Outfit note: Helena is about 95 miles east of Adams Field, whose October nights average 50.9°F. The Dream Weaver Green cloak works open at the levee and zipped after the last set.

Harrison on the ridges, Little Rock on the river

Harrison's airport sits in the Ozarks at 1,374 feet; Little Rock's Adams Field sits by the Arkansas River at 258 feet, about 118 miles to the south. In April, June and October, Harrison's normal low comes in 2.9 to 3.8 degrees under Little Rock's, and its afternoons trail by 3.2 to 3.4. The daily swing is almost identical: 22.8 degrees in an October day at Harrison, 23.3 at Little Rock.

Month Harrison high / low Little Rock high / low
April 69.6°F / 47.0°F 72.8°F / 50.1°F
June 84.9°F / 63.9°F 88.2°F / 67.7°F
October 70.8°F / 48.0°F 74.2°F / 50.9°F

A crystal unicorn and a fern-green weave for Arkansas campouts

Man with long beaded locs, seen from behind under festival bunting, in the Amethyst Unicorn men's cloak: a lilac-white unicorn rearing on violet amethyst crystals beneath a starry violet sky, crystals along the hem, gray cargo trousers

Quartz lilac for the mountain. Arkansas named quartz its state mineral, and the Amethyst Unicorn men's cloak ($250) is our crystal piece for the Ozarks. On the back, a lilac-white unicorn rears over a ledge of amethyst points beneath a violet starfield, and more crystal clusters glow along the hem. The faux fur inside can be black or white (white in the featured photo), and two of the four pockets sit inside it, one of them zipped.

Woman with beaded braids, round tinted sunglasses and gold chains in the Dream Weaver Green festival cloak, unzipped over a dark green bodysuit and fishnets: bright green spirals and fronds, violet-and-blue feathered wings, black lining

Ozark forest green for Eureka Springs. The Dream Weaver Green festival cloak ($250) tangles spring greens together: lime and fern spirals, long frond shapes flecked with bright white, and violet-and-blue feathered wings sweeping across the sleeve and the lower front. Its hood cinches with thick cords, a double zipper fastens the front, and the micro-mink shell weighs in at 200 g/m² on the listing; it comes unisex in XS through 5XL.

Planning a hoodie under it at Hillberry? Our FAQ suggests a bigger size for layering, even by two sizes. Because every sale is final, Lylyth will check your chest measurement against the chart if you send it to art@magusfawn.com.

Glowing green winged figure holding a pale swirled orb, set over a gold Flower of Life pattern on a starry green crown, on the Ophanim Green snapback hat with a bright green patterned brim

Green overhead, by day. The Ophanim Green snapback hat ($40) centers a glowing green winged figure around a pale orb swirled with blue and violet, over a lattice of gold Flower of Life circles and a field of green specks like stars. Sizing is one-size, closing with a snap at the back, for the Mountain View square or a Hillberry afternoon.

Woman with long honey-blonde braids pinned with neon flower clips, glitter eye makeup and stacked beaded bracelets in the Purple Marble V-neck bodysuit, hand on hip: violet marbling swirled with lavender and white, neon festival stage behind

Quartz lilac under the cloak. The Purple Marble V-neck bodysuit ($55) swirls violet and lavender with ribbons of white, cut with a deep V at the neck and leg openings that sweep up toward the hip. The fabric is a 95/5 polyester-spandex microfiber, listed at 180 g/m², in XS–2XL, and it hides under an open cloak until sunrise at Mulberry Mountain. Purple Marble also turns up in our story Clear at Both Ends, worn by a mother racing a Sunday-noon checkout with her 15-year-old daughter to dig one perfect quartz point.

Liquid Cosmos bucket hat from the front: marbled magenta, hot pink, teal, cobalt, green and scarlet with fine cream-gold veins and dark lines, on a gray background

River teal in the marbling. The Liquid Cosmos bucket hat ($50) swirls magenta and hot pink into teal, cobalt, green and scarlet, threaded with thin cream-gold veins. Reverse it for the other look, a Flower of Life drawn in white on black. The polyester is listed at 275 g/m², with XS, S/M and L/XL sizes, and it suits a June afternoon on the North Little Rock riverfront.

Car-camping at Hillberry and Wakaan: bring the hooded blanket

Hillberry camps you beside your car, as Wakaan's car passes did in 2026, and Wakaan allows no campfires. Pack our hooded blanket ($150) first; it's one roomy 4XL size, sewn from polyester fleece listed at 300 g/m². Zip the short front opening to your chin, raise the cat-eared hood and bury your hands in the big front pocket as the October night settles near 48°F.

Mark the calendar: March 11 for Mountain View, early September for Eureka Springs

Our slowest case is 11 business days to print and sew a piece after checkout, plus 14 for delivery. The later date in each line gives the parcel exactly that long to arrive by the last working day before opening. Weekends and federal holidays don't count, and the earlier date adds five working days of margin.

  • Arkansas Folk Festival (opens Friday, April 16): Thursday, March 4, 2027, or Thursday, March 11 at the latest.
  • Hillberry (gates Wednesday, October 13): Friday, August 27, or Friday, September 3 at the latest (Labor Day and Columbus Day skipped).
  • Original Ozark Folk Festival (opens Thursday, October 21): Tuesday, September 7, or Tuesday, September 14 at the latest.

The same count for dozens of other 2027 festivals lives in our made-to-order guide. Holiday shoppers: a Christmas Eve gift needs its order in by Tuesday, November 17, 2026. Spend $70 and US delivery is on us.

Frequently asked questions

Who were the King Biscuit Entertainers?

They were the studio band of King Biscuit Time, the KFFA radio show in Helena that first aired in 1941. Sonny Boy Williamson II and Robert Lockwood Jr. played live on the weekday broadcasts, breaking for King Biscuit Flour ads, and Pinetop Perkins and James Peck Curtis joined later. Helena's blues festival, founded in 1986, is named for the show.

Why does Hillberry ask for firewood from within 50 miles?

The Farm backs onto the Mark Twain National Forest, and wood hauled in from far away can carry insects into it. Hillberry's FAQ allows your own firewood only if it comes from within a 50-mile radius. If you'd rather not bring any, the general store on site sells firewood, ice and most basic camping supplies.

Which way should RVs drive to Hillberry from Eureka Springs?

Hillberry's directions send big rigs through town on US 62 west for 9 miles, then 2 miles north on Arkansas 187 to Blue Heron Lane, about 11 miles in all. The shorter Beaver Bridge route from town is for lighter vehicles: the festival lists a 5-ton weight limit and 11'6" clearance on the bridge.
